Volunteer in the United States UNIF USA is a small organization that depends on the good will of dedicated individuals to help fulfill its mission. There are many opportunities to volunteer, and new suggestions are always welcome. Here are several examples of volunteer efforts individuals and groups can take: Write About UNIF Press coverage is vital to getting the word out about UNIF and its unique role in rural Haiti's economic and social development. Even if you're not an expert, you can read through our website, email with questions, and even interview staff members or UNIF students. An article in your local paper, college publication, or other media outlet is invaluable. Show a Video About UNIF Several films have been produced about Fondwa and the university there, so one is bound to be right for your civic group, church, or circle of friends. Visit our multimedia page to learn about the great resources you can use to share UNIF with others! Professional Services Do you have a valuable skill that you can share with UNIF USA? It could be accounting... or writing... or web design... if you have a skill that you would like to share, please contact us to see how we can work together. Internships The University of Fondwa is tackling some of the issues that are on the forefront of the international debate on economic development, such as sustainable agriculture practices, microfinance, and best practices for resource allocation and appropriate technologies. If you are interested in getting involved on a regular basis, please contact us for internship possibilities. Volunteer in Haiti Since 1988, several dozen groups and individuals have spent time (from a few days to several years) in the community of Fondwa. They have gone to teach, and also to learn. The people there say "Fondwa se yon gwo lekol"- Fondwa is a big school. Everyone learns from each other. The Peasant Association of Fondwa accepts volunteers with backgrounds in agriculture and veterinary medicine, and people of all ages and backgrounds to work in the orphanage and school The University of Fondwa regularly welcomes foreign professors in each of its three faculties, and also as professors of foreign languages. If you are deeply interested in participating in the work of the Peasant Association of Fondwa and the University of Fondwa, consider taking a journey to the mountains of Haiti. It just may change your life, as it has for so many people before.
